The weather was just right when the cyclists in Norfolk got on their bikes for the sponsored cycle ride at the beginning of September. We at Saxthorpe and Corpusty had only a few riding but made the grand total of £330 , half of which comes to the church. Many thanks to the cyclists and those who manned the church. The beech tree on the churchyard side of the Aylsham Road. has been pruned and made safe.
LINC AGM took place on October 15th and the committee remains almost the same. We are very grateful to Sue Wylie who has stood down as treasurer after 9 years looking after our money. She has done such a good job that our subs don't need to go up in the coming year. Thank you Sue. Margaret Shinn has agreed to become our new treasurer. Evelyn Smith from the 'Caanan House' in Sheringham spoke at the Linc meeting about her magnificent work in Hungary with orphans and her trips to the Ukraine. She is very reticent about accepting any praise for all the hard work but she is the inspiration behind the efforts. Our Harvest produce and the Toys and Tins in December go to this worthwhile cause. Please help if you can. The Toys and Tins Service will be on Sunday December 7th at 10.00am.
The Garden Society meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month where members and visitors are very welcome. Miss Kirsty Willingham talks to the Linc Group on Nov. 19th about Pensthorpe - Past , Present and Future'. There will be much to hear about. Visitors will be very welcome including Bill Odie, maybe!
Remembrance Sunday service on November 9th will start at 10.45am so the two minutes silence will be held with the rest of the country. We have much to be grateful for.
Would you like an afternoon playing indoor games, i.e scrabble, cards, and bowling? Go along to the Village Hall on Nov 29th between 2-4pm and spend time doing something different.
