SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
Who’s looking after the benefice now that Stephen has left?

These and many other questions are probably buzzing round in people’s heads, so I will try to explain who is responsible for what and whom to contact. Now that we are in an interregnum the day to day responsibility for the running of the benefice goes to our Rural Dean Rev’d Bob Branson (I will give contact details later). It is Bob whom you contact with regard to the organisation of weddings, funerals, financial issues or any other benefice matters. The ministry team with an input from Bob will still organise the service rota and it is Bob’s role to try to find people to take services when there is no one from the benefice to do this. I will still be your Curate and still be taking services and I think it is probably best that you contact me in the first instance with any pastoral issues, I will also work closely with Bob on any matters related to the benefice. PCCs will still need to meet to conduct their usual business and if PCC secretaries would kindly let me have copies of minutes and dates of due meetings I will attend whenever I can. As for the future. It is the responsibility of the Bishop and Archdeacon to start the process of recruiting a new Rector for the benefice and will in the near future be looking for input from the Ministry Team and the Churchwardens to help them with this. I hope this starts to answer the many questions raised and gives you all some idea of is happening and the contacts to make should you need to. Should you have any further questions please contact Bob or myself and we will do our best to provide the information you require.
